Anti-Aging and NAD+ Therapy

Anti-Aging and NAD+ Therapy

As we get older, we’re more motivated than ever to take care of ourselves. We can’t bounce back from injury or illness as quickly, so we need to compensate with healthy habits. Unfortunately, the human body has limits and gradually begins to fail as we get older. So what can we do to slow down the aging process?

What is Aging?

The aging process is the result of three factors: cell reproduction, cell efficiency, and lifestyle.

Cell Reproduction

Our cells are constantly reproducing through a process called mitosis. When we need new cells, healthy existing cells divide in two, creating a new cell. Each time this happens, a cellular structure known as a telomere moves the necessary genetic material for the split. With each split, the telomeres of the involved cells become shorter and shorter until they can no longer facilitate cell division.

Cell Efficiency

As cell reproduction slows down, so does cell efficiency. Think of using a copy machine to make duplicates of a flier. The initial copies are almost identical to the original. Now what happens if you start making copies of the copies? With each generation the copy looks less like the original. The same is true when we age. Later generations of cells don’t perform as well as their predecessors.

Lifestyle

Healthy lifestyle choices can slow or speed up the aging process. For example, smokers seem to visibly age at a faster rate than non-smokers. Unhealthy habits force your body to work harder under more pressure, which shortens our overall lifespan.

What is NAD+?

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, aka NAD+, is found in every single cell of the body. NAD+ is a coenzyme to Vitamin B3, meaning it is used in a plethora of reactions necessary for life.

The amount of NAD+ that naturally occurs in the body decreases as we age, making it more difficult to maintain the cell efficiency and functionality we saw in our youth. Because of this, studies indicate that increasing NAD+ levels through NAD+ therapy can help slow down the aging process.

How Does NAD+ Therapy Fight Aging?

NAD+ therapy fights aging by helping to repair, maintain, and protect your cells. As a result, many patients report seeing improvements in health areas typically affected by age such as sight and memory. Additionally, because NAD+ therapy is administered through an IV, patients are able to absorb the NAD+ directly through the bloodstream, bypassing the digestion process.

NAD+ therapy can be used to improve:

Energy

Increased fatigue is a common side effect of aging. Our stamina not only decreases, but we now require more recovery time. Patients who use NAD+ therapy commonly report that their energy levels and metabolic rate have increased.

Eyesight

Specialized cells like those found in our eyes are among the first to start declining. Individuals who have never needed glasses may find that their vision starts to deteriorate well before they enter their senior years. NAD+ therapy may help to slow down loss of vision and may even help to improve eyesight.

Hearing

Another common side effect of aging is loss of hearing. Decades of noise exposure weaken the cochlea’s connection to the brain, making it difficult for us to hear. NAD+ therapy can be used to increase the patient’s level of SIRT3 (a protein that improves cellular function) to improve hearing and may reduce the effects of hearing loss.

Memory

The brain is the most complex organ in the human body. It’s no wonder that as we age neurological functions like memory start to deteriorate. NAD+ therapy can be used to improve memory and help prevent memory loss. NAD+ can improve the function of our brain’s neurotransmitters, helping us to store and recall information.

Mental Clarity

Aging patients who experience loss of energy also may be suffering from mental fatigue or “brain fog.” As is the case with memory, our brain function declines with age which can impact our ability to be in the moment. NAD+ therapy energizes the brain and improves cellular function.

Slow Down the Aging Process with NAD+ Therapy

While NAD+ therapy can’t completely stop the aging process, it can be used to provide your body with the cellular support it needs and slow down the aging process. Patients who are already experiencing the negative side effects of aging, may see their symptoms improve or disappear completely. Interested in trying the anti-aging properties of NAD+ therapy?
