Recover Faster with IV Hangover Treatments

Looking for a new way to take the edge of your hangovers? IV hangover treatments may be the solution for you. We’ll go over the causes of some common hangover symptoms and how IV hangover treatments can make the morning after a night of drinking bearable again.

Common Hangover Symptoms

Everyone experiences hangovers a little differently, but here are some of the most common hangover symptoms and their causes.

  1. Dehydration
After a night of drinking, your body is extremely dehydrated. Alcohol is a diuretic, which means it can cause you to pass water more quickly than you intake it which can lead to dehydration. While drinking water can help offset this, it doesn’t take into account all of the electrolytes you lose each time you use the restroom. Our body requires electrolytes to make proper use of hydration, so simply drinking water may not be enough to fend off a dehydrated hangover the next morning.
  2. Pain
Another common hangover symptom is feeling pain, usually presenting as a headache or stomach ache. For headaches, this is a side effect of dehydration (remember the brain is mostly made of water) and vasodilation (the widening of blood cells). For stomach aches, alcohol can actually irritate the lining of your stomach and cause residual pain the following morning. This can be made worse by frequent vomiting or other stomach upset.
  3. Nausea
As mentioned previously, alcohol can irritate the lining of your stomach. While this may present as a stomach ache for some individuals, others may experience nausea instead. Additionally, alcohol increases the stomach’s production of acid which can cause symptoms of nausea or vomiting. In cases where the body determines the amount of alcohol consumed may be toxic, we can experience nausea and vomiting as a way to protect ourselves from being poisoned.
  4. Fatigue
Alcohol is known as a sleep aid. What most people don’t know is that while alcohol can help you fall asleep, it can actually reduce your sleep quality. Our sleep cycle consists of 4 distinct stages and tampering with these stages through a sedative like alcohol results in overall poorer sleep. In particular, alcohol can interfere with your first two cycles of REM sleep. If you’re wondering how you can possibly feel tired after sleeping for 10 hours, the culprit can be linked back to the alcohol disrupted sleep.

IV Hangover Treatments

IV hangover treatments are designed to address and relieve the worst of your hangover symptoms.

  1. Rehydration
Need a fast and easy way to rehydrate? IV hangover treatments contain balanced electrolyte fluid and vitamins designed to rehydrate you quickly. An IV hangover treatment is able to provide these electrolytes so your body can immediately start distributing them where needed. While it’s still important to replenish your fluids and electrolytes orally, IV hangover treatments provide a solid foundation that will get you over the worst of your hangover symptoms.
  2. Pain Relief
Our IV hangover treatments feature a powerful NSAID that can help relieve headache pains while your body is rehydrating as well as any residual aches and pains from the night before. Many people prefer to use NSAIDs as their go-to pain killer, but they can cause more stomach irritation (especially after a night of drinking) vs the intravenous route.
  3. Nausea Suppressants
It can be difficult to manage your hangover symptoms while you deal with nausea. Nausea can make eating, drinking, and even taking medication unappealing or simply impossible. IV hangover treatments utilize a nausea suppressant in its formula to allow you to start eating and drinking. Likewise, there’s no risk of vomiting the nausea suppressant as it is also delivered intravenously.
  4. Sleep Better
Rest is paramount to recovering after a hangover. Now that you are hydrated and have your other symptoms under control, you can rest and start getting recovery sleep. Don’t forget to eat a little something to help stabilize your blood sugar before you go down for a nap!

Hangovers don’t have to put a stop to your weekend. By drinking responsibly and using IV hangover treatments you can lessen your recovery time and still enjoy a night out.
